Thai shares break 1,500-pts level

The Stock Exchange of Thailand Index stayed above the 1,500-points psychological level as the morning trade ended.

The Index stood at 1,506.03 points, gaining 14.33 points or 0.96 per cent from the previous closing on Friday.
The Index last week briefly touched 1,500 points last week.
DBS Vickers Securities (Thailand) said in a research note that should the index pass the psychological level, the next resistance line would be 1,510-1,520 points. It noted that amid the rally, investors should beware of volatility.
Asian stocks elsewhere retreated today after a record run on Wall Street showed signs of petering out. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) yesterday also cut its global growth forecasts for the next two years, citing uncertainty over Britain's looming exit from the European Union.
According to Reuters, MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 0.1 per cent early Wednesday, putting some distance between a nine-month high struck late last week.
