EC submits political parties bill to CDC

The Election Commission (EC) Tuesday submitted to the Constitution Drafting Commission (CDC) a bill regarding political parties, which preserves existing parties despite recent calls for all parties to be disbanded to reset politics.

The bill stipulates that it should be difficult for parties to be set up, maintained or dissolved, which would help to institutionalise and strengthen them, EC member Somchai Srisuthiyakorn said after a five-hour meeting at the EC’s central office.
