67-year-old former soldier pleas for help for over 200 dogs, cats

A retired soldier continues to work as a security officer of a restaurant for a pay of Bt350 a day despite of his age of 67 because he is struggling to earn to buy foods for over 200 stray dogs and cats under his care, a website reported.

Mthai News website reported that Phisit Khamkhom, who is renting a plot of land on Soi Sala Thammasop 34 in Bangkok’s Thawi Wattthana district to house 180 stray dogs and 60 stray cats, is in urgent need of public support for the animals’ foods.
The website said the old soldier collected animals discarded for caring and later on an aged woman had been discarded and came to live with him as well.
Phisit told Mthai that his pay of Bt350 a day was not enough for buying foods for the animals so he had sold his belongings and his land to earn money to buy foods and vaccine for them.
His wife and children have left him because he devoted himself to take care of the discarded animals, he said.
He said he would welcome public donations to buy foods for the poor animals.
The man could be reached at his mobile phone (094-991-6804).
