‘Let me be last coup victim’: Yingluck

On occasion of the ten years anniversary of 2006 coup, former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra Monday expressed her wish she would be the last victim of a coup.

“We lost opportunity to stand gracefully in world communities every time we have a coup,” she said, added that she hoped the undemocratic means would not happen again.
Yingluck’s elder brother and fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra was toppled by the coup in 2006. She and her Pheu Thai government were later overthrown by another coup in 2014.
