UN to hold special assembly to honour late HM

The United Nations (UN) will organise a special assembly to honour HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej Friday, which will also be broadcast live on the UN's webcast.
Thai ambassador to the UN, Virachai Plasai, said Friday that, in this rare and special session held at 10am in the UN building in New York City (9pm Thai time), the representatives of UN member countries would speak in honour of the late Thai King.
The 15-minute session would commence with an address by the chairman of the general assembly, followed by the chairs of five regions and US permanent representative to the UN, Samantha Power. The session would end with Virachai's speech.
