Mourinho charged with misconduct over pre-match referee comments

London - Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was charged with misconduct by the Football Association on Thursday for comments concerning referee Anthony Taylor.

Taylor was assigned United's game against Liverpool on October 17 and Mourinho said before the match it would be "difficult" for the Manchester-based official to have a "very good performance."
Managers are prohibited from speaking about officials prior to matches.
Mourinho has until October 31 to respond to the charge, the FA said in a statement.
Taylor issued four yellow cards, all to United players, in the 0-0 draw.
