Frozen dew welcomes tourists on Doi Inthanon

Tourists who visited the Doi Inthano Mountain on the first day of the long weekend were treated with frozen dew Saturday morning when the temperature dropped to 3 Celsius degree, a Doi Inthanon Park official said.

Wuthipong Dongkhamfu, assistant chief of the park said, he expected the frozen dew would continue for a few more days.
He said the temperature at the Kiew Mae Pan trekking path was about 7 C degree while the temperature at the park office was about 11 C degree.
He added that 2,490 tourists visited the park on Friday and about 3,000 to 5,000 tourists are expected each day during the long weekend.
Wuthipong said the park would also exempt Thais from entrance fee on Monday on the occasion of birthday anniversary of late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
