Temporary bridges installed in south

The Highways Department’s fourth bridge construction and restoration centre has installed a “Bailey” portable, pre-fabricated, truss bridge at two locations on Highway No. 41, the department announced on Friday.

The temporary bridges are at the 106th kilometre marker (Suan Somboon-Koh Mook) in Surat Thani and the 308th kilometre marker (Thung Song-Ron Phibun) in Nakhon Si Thammarat, both of which were damaged by severe flooding.
With most areas of the South continuing to face heavy rains and several parts of the Highway No. 41 impassable to traffic, the department is advising motorists to use the Highway No.4 from Prathomporn Intersection to Chumphon, Ranong, Krabi, Trang, Phatthalung and Songkhla’s Hat Yai district. Those encountering impassable sections or obstacles on highway should notify the department's hotline 1586 around the clock.
