Govt upgrades flood alleviation efforts to Category 3

Government Spokesman Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the government has upgraded the efforts to help flood victims in southern provinces to large-scale management under Category 3.
Sansern said the government also set up two forward flood-alleviation centres in Surat Thani and Songkhla to speed up help for the people.
Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paochina will be in charge of the overall measures, Sansern said.
