Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police on Friday announced the arrest of Oraphan Chantatum, 25, who confessed to committing acts of fraud by luring clients to transfer money for purchase of cameras advertised on her Instagram account.
“She was arrested for the crime she committed two years ago. She tried to sell goods online, most of which were digital cameras, at a cheaper price.
“Initially, she bore the loss from selling the cameras cheaper than she had bought them in order to earn the trust of her customers.
“Once the number of customers increased considerably, she did not send the goods to them after the money was transferred to her bank account. The damage caused by her acts was estimated at Bt10 million,” said CSD deputy commander Sithatkhet Khruwatanaset.
