Mercury atop Doi Inthanon plunges to 3 Celsius degree
The temperature atop tourist-destination Doi Inthanon mountain fell to 3 Celsius degree Thursday morning, resulting in white frozen dew covering the mountain.
Rung Hiranwong, chief of the Doi Inthanon National Park, said frosts could be seen from kilometre marker 45 to 47 where tourists often flocked to experience freezing weather.
He said the temperature at the Kiew Mae Parn natural trekking area was about 8 Celsius degree. The clear sky and lack of strong winds allowed tourists to enjoy the beautiful view of sea of mist Thursday morning, he added.
