The hearing was about a retrial case in which the Justice Ministry sought to help Jomsap Saenmuangkhot, a former teacher, who was sentenced to three years and two months in jail for allegedly killing an elderly man, Lua Phorbumrung, in a hit-and-run accident on March 11, 2005, in Nakhon Phanom’s Renu Nakhon district.
Jomsap served 18 months before being released by royal pardon in 2015.
“In order to avoid confusion, we won’t include Sap as a witness. We will be focused on Jomsap’s Toyota pickup which found no evidence that the car was involved in an accident,” Dusadee said.
Sap was not be involved in the retrial case so it was useless to prove whether Sap was the real driver who killed Lua or not, Dusadee said.
