Media license still needed although to be unconditionally granted

The media reform committee resolved the people currently practicing media profession will be granted media license unconditionally while the new entries will meet tough restrictions before obtaining the permit.
The new professionals to enter the media industry after the enactment of the media regulatory law will be subjected to undergoing trainings, taking examination, and receiving Key Performance Index (KPI) evaluation.
The details on the regulations will be laid out by the professional council, said the committee chairman ACM Kanit Suwannet Monday.
In addition, the media reform committee also adjusted the composition of the council, increasing the number of members from 13 to 15. The two extra seats will be reserved for media representatives from regional level, raising the total number of media representatives to seven from previously five.
