Deposit mobilisation chance due to slower credit extension: GSB

The Government Savings Bank (GSB) expects its credit extension to slow this year, which could lead to deposit mobilisation given the Thai economic recovery, the bank said.

Chatchai Payuhanaveechai, president of GSB, said the bank’s credit extension and deposit mobilisation may not expand at a high level compared to its typical growth in previous years following the economy’s recover path.
In the past, the bank’s credit loan extension typically grew two or three times the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP), he said.
