Raid on red-shirt leader’s house ‘not a blow to reconciliation’

The seizure of weapons from the raid of a house suspected to belong to a red-shirt leader would not affect the ongoing reconciliation efforts, as the operation was part of the government’s policy to maintain order in society, the spokesman of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) said.

Maj-General Piyapong Klinphan said the operation was aimed at ensuring order and safety in society and would not affect reconciliation.
Troops and police seized a number of war weapons from a house in Pathum Thani, which implicated a fugitive red-shirt leader of an extreme group, a police source said.
