Beautiful paper offering in special rite for late King

Beautiful paper offering in special rite for late King

A beautifully made paper offering, depicting the real-life Phra Tamnak Pieum Suk within Klai Kangwon Palace in Prachuap Khiri Khan, was part of the offerings in a special royal Chinese funeral rite (Kong Tek) held at the Royal Palace's Dusit Maha Prasat Thorn Hall for HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Tuesday afternoon.

The rite was performed by Anamnikaya monks, according to the tradition of performing such Kong Tek rituals for the late kings and royal family members since the reign of King Rama IV.
The paper house with elaborate detail, plus human and animal paper mannequins, were made by the famous Chang Lek Wat Yuan Saphankhao Shop in Soi Phetchakasem 42.
This shop had produced Kong Tek offerings in Chinese funeral rites for HM Queen Rambhai Bharni, HRH Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani, HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, and HRH Princess Bejaratana.
