The Prayut Cabinet on Tuesday approved the draft bill, which stipulates a tax rate of 2 per cent for unused land, with the rate increasing 0.5 per cent every three years until capped at 5 per cent.
The previous draft had the same ceiling but a quicker increase from the base rate.
Pornpetch affirmed that legislators would listen to all opinions, including those from the Council of State, the government and relevant stakeholders, and deliberate the draft inclusively.
He said the government and NLA whips would meet next Monday to decide when the draft bill would be deliberated by the NLA.
Pornpetch said it was not certain whether the bill would go through all three readings in a row.
