Seven injured after truck crashes into van carrying students

Seven people were injured when a six-wheel truck crashed into the rear of a van transporting students to a school in Chachoengsao province on Monday morning.

Police said five students, a parent and a pedestrian were injured in the accident that happened at about 7am on Bang Pakong-Chachoengsao Road in Ban Pho district.
The van overturned after being hit and landed on its roof in a roadside ditch.
The van was driven by Jira Rojin, 62. He told police he was transporting eight students and a parent to Wat Pitulathiraj School for summer classes when the accident occurred.
He said he was about to park on the roadside to pick up another student when the truck driven by Sayan Krobkrathok, 35, hit the van’s rear.
Sayan said he could not stop the truck in time when the van changed lanes to stop.
Police said the injured were sent to Bang Pakong Hospital.
