Cop wanted for alleged role in teenage prostitution ring

Arrest warrants were issued on Tuesday for a policeman and two women over their alleged roles in luring girls aged under 18 into prostitution in Mae Hong Son province, according to Anti-Human Trafficking Division (AHTD) chief Kornchai Klayklueng.

The Criminal Court approved the AHTD’s application for the arrest warrants for Piyawan Sukma, Piyathas Parpthiensuwan and Senior Sergeant Major Yutthachai Thongchat.
The alleged offences relate to girls aged above 15 but below 18.
The case stemmed from a 43-year-old former anti-narcotics police informant's quest for justice for her teenage daughter, who had allegedly been lured into taking drugs, blackmailed and coerced into prostitution.
The alleged crimes had reportedly taken place for years and several other girls had allegedly fallen into the same trap as the woman’s daughter.
The mother has allegedly been subjected to threats regarding the case.
