Tarit probe ‘blueprint’ for cases against corrupt state officials

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) chairman Pol General Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit has said the investigation into former Department of Special Investigation chief Tarit Pengdit will serve as an example for other cases against corrupt state officials.

Tarit who was found by the NACC to have obtained unusual wealth during his time as DSI chief.
Earlier this month, Tarit was dismissed from his post as an adviser at the Prime Minister's Office for being unusually rich and he is not allowed to appeal against the decision.
Tarit was removed as DSI chief and appointed to the adviser role in 2014 after the coup.
Watcharapol insisted the NACC probe followed the evidence and was not intended to “bully” anyone.
