A late-evening storm uprooted trees and tore off roofs in downtown Kamphaeng Phet on Thursday, leaving branches, TV antennae and other debris scattered along roads.

The storm at around 10pm knocked tree trunks and branches onto power cables. Utility workmen rushed to clear them before they caused further danger.

A large tree and a large section of a roof blocked all traffic on the road in front of the Mueang Kamphaeng Phet district office. Elsewhere a community-radio mast fell onto the roof of a house.
