Trump invites Prayut to White House

US President Donald Trump called Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha on Sunday and invited him to visit the White House, the Office of Press Secretary of the White House announced.
According to the press statement from White House, the two leaders underscored their commitment to the longstanding alliance between the United States and Thailand, which actively contributes to peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
During the phone call, Trump and Prayut expressed a strong shared interest in strengthening trade and economic ties between the two countries.
The statement quoted Trump of affirming the commitment of the United States to playing an active and leading role in Asia, in close cooperation with partners and allies like Thailand, and inviting the prime minister to the White House.
