Pursuit of underwear thief leads to surprise culprits
Tenants of rented houses in a Chon Buri seaside village suspected a pervert was afoot after underwear kept disappearing from clotheslines.
But the “pervert” turned out to be a local band of playful monkeys.
The tenants in Moo 6, a village in Mueang district’s Tambon Bang Sai, were on the lookout for a possibly mentally disturbed prowler who was stealing their underwear and shirts from laundry lines.
Then the actual thieves were tracked down – monkeys living in the nearby mangrove forest.
Resident Ratanawadee Khomkham, 27, noticed two pairs of underwear missing on Tuesday morning, but her clothing and other garments were soon found discarded among the mangroves, mere playthings for the simian raiders.
