Agencies warned ahead of explosions in Pattani, says police chief

A police intelligence unit warned other agencies of a possible car bomb attack about an hour before a double explosion at the Big C shopping mall in Pattani, Police Commissioner General Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda said on Thursday.
“The authorities managed to prevent damage up to a level,” Chakthip said.
On Tuesday afternoon, more than 60 shoppers, including children, were injured when a bomb exploded inside the mall followed by a second car bomb explosion at the mall entrance.
