The Wattana Girls win big in Moscow

The Wattana Girls Choir of Wattana Witthaya Academy has won two gold medals at the Moscow International Children’s Youth Choral Festival, “Moscow Sound”, in the Russian capital.

The choir of 41 girls from Thailand won Gold Medals in the General Competition and the Gospel & Gospel & Spiritual categories, beating more 178 choirs from 16 countries. The festival, which runs from May 8 to 17, take place every two years.
The Moscow Sound is organised by Radost,  Moscow’s foremost educational establishment for vocal/choral training and general musical/aesthetic education for the general public.
Choirs from Thailand, US, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Poland, Bulgaria, China, Hong Kong, the Bahamas, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldovia, Georgia, Armenia, Serbia and other countries participated in the 2017 competition along with those from a number of Russian cities.
According to its  website, Moscow Sound is the largest Russian youth choral forum, and it is famous far beyond the borders of the country. Its programme includes gala concerts, soloists from participating associations in the best concert halls of Moscow, creative gatherings, open lessons and masterclasses, scientific/practical conferences on the development of children's and youth choral creativity, and moulding of the vocal habits of young singers.
