Sanam Luang homage to late King going online

The Bangkok exhibition paying tribute to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which drew more than 395,000 visitors to Sanam Luang, is expected to draw many more after it appears in virtual form online on June 1.

Government spokesman Lt-General Sansern Kaewkamnerd said on Friday the government was launching a website featuring a virtual version of the exhibition “Yen Sira Phro Phra Bori Ban”.
The exhibition showcases the late monarch’s life and work, including some of his personal items. The original event opened at Sanam Luang on February 10, but closed on May 16 to make way for construction of the late King’s crematorium.
Sansern said the online edition would capture the “atmosphere” of the physical exhibition hall and feature photos of the activities held there, so that people around the world could learn about the Thai monarchy.
The website would also serve as an historical record for coming generations to study, he said.
