Eight taken away by police at Walk for Justice

Eight people including Phayao Akhad – the mother of volunteer medic Kamonked Akhad who was shot at Pathum Wanaram temple during the 2010 political crackdown – were intercepted by police while joining the Walk for Justice near the temple on Friday, online news agency Prachatai reported.

They were performing a silent drama when officers arrived and took them to Pathumwan police station. All eight were later released about 6.30pm.
“They intercepted us probably because they feared we would find the truth. Justice can prevail only when the truth is revealed,” said Phayao after being headed off by police.
