The peacekeeping taskforce in Loei has found that 64 hotels and resorts in the province do not have operating licences.
Col Sornsiri Pollkhet and district officials checked the hotels and resorts in the Muean Loei district on Thursday morning and found that 25 have not received operating licences while 35 others have been operating legally, Sornsiri said.
He said his taskforce had earlier checked other districts and found 15 resorts in Chiang Khan district that did not have licences. As well, 22 resorts in Phu Rua district and two in Pha Khao district also had no licences.
They have been told to apply for licences or face legal action.
