Pol Capt Songkram Sisang of the Mueang district station said the robbery occurred at a 7-Eleven in the Preecha market at 2.10am.
Sutthida Koteboonma, 19, told police the culprit approached while she was refilling shelves behind the cashier counter and poked her in the back with the fork.
She resisted his demand for cash at first, but then he claimed to also have a gun, so she opened the cash drawer and gave him at least Bt2,300. He fled immediately, she said.
Two other staff members had already rushed outside and called police, but by the time they arrived, the only signs of the robber were a cap and shirt he discarded in the market.
