A bomb squad in northeastern province of Mukdahan on Wednesday unearthed 24 explosive devices including mortar and artillery shells believed to be left over from the Indochina War.

The squad transferred the weapons, which were found at a property owned by Hataithip Duangjan in Muang district, pending their destruction.
Security officials and an explosive ordnance disposal team were alerted at about 8am by workers who were constructing a fence for Hataithip when they found the explosives.
Some of the explosives were reportedly still active.
