Pol Captain Wiralphet Worapongpakorn, deputy inspector of Wangthong Police Station, said the accident happened at 8pm on the Phitsanulok-Lomsak Road in Moo 1 village in Tambon Chainam, Wangthong district. 
The pickup driver, Bancha Pimsri, 36, was slightly injured. 
Bancha said the drive shaft of his vehicle broke because he had possibly overloaded the truck. He said he was transporting the durians from Uttaradit to Ubon Ratchathani province.
