Police said the man was later identified as Suban Polmueangsri, 56, a resident of Ubon Ratchathani province.
He was killed about 500 mertres away from the Yothaka Railway Station in Moo 8 village in tambon Bang Toey in Prachin Buri’s Ban Sang district.
The station chief quoted the driver of the last Bangkok-Prachin Buri train of the day as saying that he spotted something that looked like a man lying on the track, so he applied the brakes but obviously to no avail.
The driver reported the incident to the station chief and continued the trip.
