Chon Buri police detain 37 teen road racers, impound 21 bikes

The Chon Buri police arrested 37 youths as it cracked down on road racers following complaints from local residents.

Police seized 21 motorcycles and a car suspected of being modified for road racing. 
Acting on complaints of local residents that some youths were racing on roads, police set up checkpoints on Sukhumvit Road and Khao Larm Road in Tambon Huay Kapi of the province’s Mueang district on Friday night.
They spotted 20 motorcycles, a big bike and a car that was apparently modified for racing. Police detained 22 male teenagers and 15 female teens and contacted their parents to meet the authorities.
During the operation, a teenage girl tried to flee when she saw a checkpoint. She reversed and rode her motorcycle against the traffic and suffered a fall. She was sent to a local hospital.
