Smiling actress ‘Patt’ thanks prosecutors for their mercy

Actress Napapa “Patt” Tantrakul - whom prosecutors spared from indictment in a high profile money-laundering case - appeared at Bangkok's Ratchadapisek Criminal Court on Monday to report at the conclusion of her final detention period.

A smiling Napapa told reporters she had thanked the court and public prosecutors for their mercy.
Prosecutors decided not to indict her last week.
Napapa, 30, said she would request the return of the Bt500,000 she deposited as bail while police investigated her.
She had been named as the fifth suspect in the Narcotics Suppression Bureau investigation into the alleged laundering of drug money and conspiring to launder money on behalf of alleged Laotian drug kingpin Xaysana Keopimpa, 42.
Napapa's husband Akarakit “Benz Racing” Worarojcharoendet, 30, Nattapon Nakkham, 31, Sansern Rasanont, 25, and Angsuporn Inna, 29, have been indicted over the matter and the investigation is continuing.
Prosecutors said there is no evidence to indicate Napapa.
The evidence that had implicated in the case involved 18 financial transactions made from April 2016 to February, in which Akarakit wired funds to her account in amounts that prosecutors now say could be regarded as a husband simply taking care of his wife.
The actress's lawyer said it is now up to the national police chief to accept or reject the decision not to indict her, in line with due process.
The actress and her relatives supported Akarakit in another courtroom on Monday upon the commencement of the review of evidence in his case.
