Tillerson pays tribute to late King at Grand Palace
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Tuesday paid tribute to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the only monarch to have been born in the United States.
Tillerson signed the book of condolences to the late King in the Red Room of the Chambers of the Bureau of the Royal Household at the Grand Palace.
Tillerson today also paid an official visit to Thailand as a guest of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
He met Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House, where the two discussed regional tensions in the Korean peninsula and the South China Sea, as well as US relations with Thailand.
Tillerson’s one-day visit to Bangkok took place after he attended the Asean ministerial meetings in Manila.
His trip to Southeast Asia, which began last Saturday and ends tomorrow, also took him to Malaysia to discuss bilateral and regional issues.
