Fleeing gunman rams police pickup, injuring two cops

Two police officers were injured in Ratchaburi soon after midnight on Friday when a motorist being pursued rammed into the pickup truck they’d placed in his path.

The driver of the BMW remains at large following a police chase that ended at the crash scene in Mueang district’s Tambon Khubua about 12.45am.
He was being pursued after allegedly firing a gun at another motorist.
The driver abandoned his car and jumped into a nearby canal, escaping in the dark. 
Inside the car were found the identification card of Sorawit Maneewan, 27, and a 9mm pistol.
Injured when their pickup was rammed, Pol Capt Kantapong Phetpankan, deputy inspector of Mueang Ratchaburi station, and Pol Senior Sgt Maj Thanakrit Kaewchampasri were rushed to Ratchaburi Hospital.
