A new tourist service centre in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat has opened to provide assistance to tourists under the government’s policy to promote 2018 as the Thailand Travel Year.

Commissioner-general of the Tourist Police Division, Maj-General Prasert Ngernyuang, on Monday presided over the opening ceremony of the new centre in Khanom district, the Thai National News Bureau reported.
Prasert said the new centre will serve Thais and foreigners in Khanom district and its vicinity.
The centre’s opening follows an influx of tourists to the area.
It is staffed by five police officers, 15 volunteers and two translators.
All elements of the centre are slated for continual improvement.
Visitors to the area can also call the Tourist Police hotline 1155 for assistance.
