Policeman commits suicide in Nakhon Ratchasima

A policeman was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head in an apparent suicide at his father house in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Mueang district early on Wednesday.
The father of Pol Cpl Athiwat Phakprasit, 29, woke up to find his son's body at 1.15am and alerted Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima police station.
Authorities determined that he died from a .38mm gunshot wound to his forehead about four hours earlier.
A suicide note was left at the scene, asking his sister to take care of their father, Prasant Phakprasit. The note talked about his problem with his girlfriend who had ended their relationship.
Prasant said Athiwat was stationed in Chaiyaphum and returned home on his days off.
