Man drown in Loei run-off
A tambon councillor drowned after he and his motorcycle were washed off the road by run-off from an overflowing dyke in Loei’s Phu Kradueng district on Sunday.
The body of Sophon Hawiset, 50, was found stuck underwater beneathbamboo roots on a creek bank about 100 metres downstream from the dyke at 8am on Munday.
His body was found after authorities sought help from a team of scuba divers from a rescue foundation.
Police said Sophon was riding his motorcycle home when a flash flood caused the dyke to overflow and the water washed him into the creek .
