Floods close roads, schools in Mae Hong Son

Flash floods have hit homes and made several roads impassable for traffic in Mae Hong Son's Mae La Noi district, prompting local officials to clear roads and provide aid to affected residents on Tuesday morning.

Mae La Luang School and Mae La Noi School were closed, as teachers and students couldn’t gain access.
Heavy downpours in Muang, Khun Yuam and Mae La Noi districts since Sunday resulted in flash floods in Ban Huai Makong of Tambon Santi Khiri and Ban Mae La Luang of Tambon Mae La Luang late on Monday night.
As many roads were blocked by mud, trees and debris, local administrators on Tuesday morning joined with para-military rangers from Mae Sarieng district-based Thepasingh Camp to clear the lanes so traffic could resume by 1pm.
As rainfall continued, authorities warned residents of Mae La Noi to brace for further possible flash floods this week.
