The Akha hill-tribe community of Ban Romklao Charoensuk (Moo 13) in Tak's Phob Phra district hosted a traditional ritual on Sunday evening in welcome home Bunchuai Sombatraksa, who won a bronze medal playing in the national cricket team at the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur.

The ceremony was held at Bunchuai's family home and was presided over by local tribal chief Tathe Briaseku, 65.
Many people, including Bunchuai's relatives and friends, welcomed the young man, who rode a motorcycle to the village from Bangkok after returning from Malaysia.
Bunchuai thanked all Akha and Thai people for cheering on him and the other Thai athletes at the 29th SEA Games.
It was the first time Bunchuai had played in the national cricket team.
The sport was added to the SEA Games for the first time this year.
