Abandoned house collapses in Bangkok

A two-storey house near a Bangkok canal collapsed on Sunday afternoon.

Debris from the structure blocked a walkway at the Santichonsonggroh Community in the capital’s Bangkok Noi district.
“I have already ordered public works officials to bring down the whole structure,” Bangkok Noi District Office chief Pracha Pattanarat said.
He added that the house had been deserted for a long time and not maintained, so erosion might have affected the foundation of the structure.
The accident did not cause any casualties.
Local residents living in the area alerted police out of concern that the structure might collapse further.
