Positive drug test for Phang Nga gang-rape case suspects

TWO SUSPECTS in the alleged gang rape of a schoolgirl in Phang Nga have tested positive to drugs in urine tests. The two suspects are among the first three men named by the young victim.

The alleged gang rape made headlines earlier this month after the girl spoke out about her ordeal. Based on her testimonies, more than 40 men in sexually assaulting her. 
The rapes reportedly lasted between May and December last year at the Ban Koh Raed in Phang Nga’s Takua Thung district. 
Arrest warrants have already been issued for eight |suspects. 
Phang Nga’s police chief Pol Maj-General Boontawee Toraksa said yesterday that police were in the process of gathering more evidence to identify all culprits.
“As for the eight suspects in detention, we have rejected their bail,” he said. 
Boontawee said the suspects could submit bail requests to the court again after they were brought for detention.
