Uber Thailand has introduced a new feature that lets users request a ride for a loved one in a different location via the Uber app.

Now, when a customer sets the pickup away from his or her current location, the Uber app will automatically ask whether the ride is for a family member or friend. The app user can then select the rider from the address book, set their destination, and request the ride on their behalf.
Once the driver is on the way, the rider would receive a text message with the driver’s details and a link to track the driver’s route. They would also be able to contact the driver directly. The driver would see the rider’s name, and be able to contact the rider directly, too.
This feature is available starting today in over 30 countries.
