School director denies molesting teacher

An Uttaradit school director on Wednesday surrendered to police to challenge accusations by a 47-year-old teacher who said he had drunkenly molested her on numerous occasions.

The unnamed school director, who said he was in Nan performing civil service work when the teacher filed the complaint on Monday, which explained his failure to immediately report to police, denied the charges of molestation and drunkenness.
He also told police that the Nam Pat district school had internal administrative conflicts that could have made people angry with his “straightforward approach” and criticism of others, although he had not believed that it would lead to such accusations.
Meanwhile, the acting director of the Uttaradit Primary Education Area 2 Office, Thammanoon Pichai, said the teacher had been temporarily moved to another school in Tha Pla district pending a fact-finding investigation, which should yield results in three days.
The teacher accused the school director of drunkenly molesting her on numerous occasions between last December and September 1 and submitted photos and names of other teachers at the school who were reportedly prepared to testify in support of her allegation.
