Heavy rains in Bangkok early Tuesday morning drove mourners who had camped outdoors ahead of this week’s royal cremation into nearby buildings for shelter.

Many others, though, endured the downpour under umbrellas and raincoats and remained at their campsites on a footpath alongside Khlong Lod and near the Rattanakosin Hotel.
People are camping there in the hope of getting prime vantage points for the royal processions to the funeral of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol at Sanam Luang.
The entire ceremonial grounds will be off-limits to the public from 10pm on Tuesday until 5am on Wednesday, when queues of mourners will pass through nine screening points.
The funeral takes place tomorrow through Sunday (October 25-29), with the cremation taking place on Thursday.
