Phetchaburi schools closed due to floods

Schools in Phetchaburi province’s Muang district were closed on Thursday after the Phetchaburi River burst its banks and flooded the downtown area late Wednesday night.

By 7am on Thursday, roads downtown were under about 20 to 30 centimetres of water.
The Bangkok-bound Phetkasem Road in front of Big C shopping mall was under 30cm of water for about two kilometres, causing traffic to slow down.
The authorities said schools in the heart of Muang district would remain closed until Monday.
