Fire sweeps through tile factory in Samut Prakan
A large fire raged through a tile factory in Muang Samut Prakan early Friday, causing extensive damage.
Five fire engines responded to the call to Iglass Mosaic and Tiles on Soi Sup Boonchai in Tambon Bang Muang at 5.30am, only to find the industrial compound’s gate locked.
The lock was cut off and fire-fighters spent about an hour dowsing the blaze.
By then it had swept through the entire building, damaging nearly all the machines and tiles stored inside.
Police suspect a short circuit triggered the fire, but forensics experts had yet to inspect the scene.
