Vijit Supinit, a former governor of the Bank of Thailand, passed away on Sunday evening aged 77.

He served as central bank governor from 1990 to 1996.
Vijit had suffered a blood clot which led to liver failure.
His funeral ceremony is to be held at Wat Phra Si Mahathat in Bangkok.
