Pran Buri district, one tambon of Hua Hin declared rabies zones
The Prachuap Khiri Khan provincial administration has declared the entire district of Pran Buri and a tambon in Hua Hin as rabies control zones.
Saroj Chanlard, animal health division chief of Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Livestocks Office, said the measure was taken after 15 sampled dogs in Prachin Buri’s three areas tested positive to rabies.
Hua Hin's Tambon Thap Tai, which is next to Pran Buri, is also under the rabies control measure.
Saroj said his office has rounded up 68 street dogs in Pran Buri for monitoring for rabies. If they test negative, they will be sent to an animal shelter in Lop Buri, he added.
